Biography

Ruijie (Jerry) Wu, known as 7erry, is currently a PhD student in the School of Computer Science at the University of Bristol. His research focuses on Software & System Security, with particular interest in vulnerability analysis, especially vulnerability investigation, triage and diagnosis, for enhancing the efffectiveness and efficiency of vulnerability governance.

Prior to his doctoral studies, 7erry completed a accelrated 3+1 joint program, obtaining both his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees. He graduated with a BEng from the School of Cyber Science and Engineering at Huazhong University of Science and Technology in June 2026, followed by a MSc in Cyber Security(Software Security) from the School of Computer Science at University of Bristol in September 2026.

Research

7erry takes broad interests in the realm of cyber security and computer science. His research looks into the vulnerability analysis of each key stage of vulnerability lifecycle, including vulnerability identification, assessment and remediation. He aims to critically examine and challenge barriers of existing vulnerability analysis methods by systematically investigating and deconstructing its failure modes to achieve theoretical exploration and engineering contributions towards advanced vulnerability investigation.
